Toronto: Maneesha Jayadevan impressed the audience with the Bharatnatyam arangetram or stage debut held at Meadowvale Theatre in Mississauga on 5th July, 2014.
Mrs. Sudha Chandrasekhar, an internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and renowned choreographer from Michigan (U.S.A) was the chief guest for the occasion. Presence of the famous musician Mr. Ambilikuttan Aravindakshan Nair who is Maneesha’s paternal uncle made the event even memorable with a rendition on Lord, God Devi Mookambika.
Mohan Thiruchelvam, Vasuthevan Rajalingam ,Varnarameswaran, Rathiruban Paramsothy were accompanying artists who performed exceptionally well with their talents. A noteworthy feature of this arangetram was between Maneesha and the violinist. One would only very rarely see the father-daughter duo on stage outside Indian continent. Jayadevan Nair is a well known, talented violinist who is constantly seen on many stages in around the North American continent. Mrs. Urmila Jayadevan who works as teacher with Toronto District School Board is the proud mother of Maneesha.
Maneesha Jayadevan started learning dance at a young age of 7 with Mrs. Preetha Kandanchatha at Nrutha Kala Kendra Dance Academy (NKK), Toronto. Preetha Kandanchatha is the founder and director of Nrutha Kala Kedra Dance Accademy. which started in 2002 spanning over 4 locations in GTA now. Nrutha Kala Kendra Dance Academy provides training in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchupudi , Folk and Cinematic dance forms.

The bonding between guru & disciple picture was well painted by both Preetha & Maneesha during their speech. Maneesha is truly blessed to have a guru like Preetha Kandanchatha. The show was ended with Maneesha dedicating herself upon her guru’s feet and in retrospect earning her guru’s unconditional love.
